Monster cables are a ripoff and will never offer any advantage over a moderate quality cable. Only really cheap cables (or really long cable runs) will have quality deficiencies.

If you want true dolby digital surround sound, optical is the way to go. The audio cables that come with the premium do not give out a digital signal only analog.
It doesnt need to be a monster cable either. I agree with the rest monster cables are a rip off.

Optical will do one of two things (this is dejavu)
1.Crisper sound
2.Less delay (if that is a problem)

hmmm.. Do not, however think under any circumstances that the stereo left right RCA out jacks is giving you 5.1. You cannot get "5.1" with the RCA's. Although it can be simulated if your reciever supports Dolby Pro Logic then you will sort of get a 5.1 feel.

OMG I hate those things!!!! Some guy at radioshack kept trying to peddle one to me when all I wanted was a normal one. Do those guys get paid on commission or something? lol
