problem with a/v cables

My xbox 360 is flashing red which I think means the A/V cables aren't plugged in, but they are. there is no picture or sound. I've read the instructions several times and they don't make any sense but i've tried every single cable to try to get the video to work, and yes i've tried it on a different t.v. and I was on the right t.v. video . It's a premium model. I looked at pictures online of the a/v cables and they look different than mine. Do you think it's a problem with the 360 or the cables? Any help or reply will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hmm it could mean a problem with the system. I think it says somewhere in the manual about system problems.Ring ms and If this is the case then the only consolation is that ms provide very good customer support and will replace it no probs and i hear very fast.

i had a flashing red problem for a wee while. in my case it meant that the power supply wasnt properly connected to thelug, console or power unit. make sure the cable from the plug to the power unit is properly in as it needs a bit of force to get it all the way in...

i mean, why the hell did M$ design lights to flash when the thing malfunctions...it seems strange that there is a little engine which knows when the thing is bust! why cant it do a trouble shoot and state the problemo!!!???!!!
