is wireless b fast enough/which wireless adapter to choose?
whatsup guys I'm trying to put my xbox on my wireless network. i got a wireless g/b linksys router and im trying to find a network adapter that isnt going to cost me a fortune (ie: the official microsoft one which is almost $100). i found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Linksys-Wireless...QQcmdZViewItem
would that work? ive heard wireless B is sometimes too slow for xbox 360 gaming. thanks

wireless b is fine for online gaming. its like 8x internet speed which is fast. wireless g is like 52x internet, but if you think about it you'll get better connection on the slower one. i use it.
i have a linksys game adapter similar to the one on ebay but mine is a bit bigger.

Why would you get a better connection on the slower one?

Doesn't really matter how fast your wireless is unless your wireless connection is actually slower than your broadband connection to the Internet.
Since most people have less than 8Mb of download speed, having a wireless with 11Mb is certainly not going to be a bottleneck. Have a 54Mb wireless config won't help any as the 8Mb speed of the internet connection is going to be the slow point.

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".

Wireless G DOes not only Offer Faster 54 MBPS Speed, but it will push out more speed too, Meaning Yes it is faster, even if you have 3 MBPS Cable Modem Internet, You Will Truly Notice faster speed, better ping, and less lag with a G Adapter Vs. a B Adapter, Yes You would think since B is 11 MBPS it should be good enough, but when is anything that it claims, G will definitely be faster, I know because I have used B and G for laptops, and lots of other things and it truly makes a difference using a G Adapter
