I haven't really bought any blu-ray movies for my ps3 just because their more expensive than dvds. I'll stick to DVDs until Scarface comes out on Blu-ray.

I agree. I use my console just for games, and games alone. If I wanna watch a DVD I use a DVD Player.
I would rather buy a HD-DVD or BD Player seperate rather then watch through my console.
Just personal preference.

I use my 360 for movies and it looks just as good as on a regular dvd player. Plus that's one less box on top of my HDTV and one less set of cables going to back. Only using the 360 for games when it was made to do more is like using a computer for just one thing when it can do alot more.

Just curious why you are against playing dvd's on the 360.

My console is upstairs. My entertainment centre is downstairs - with a larger Tv and DVD player. I tend to watch films there. Plus, the the 360 is too noisy for watching DVDs, since with most films you have quiet periods etc also.
Im not saying the 360 cant do the same job as a standalone DVD Player, its just my personal preference. Ive never bought a console and used it for anything other then games...

I'm not against it, but why put wear and tear on your xbox when you don't need to.... Besides buying a dvd player or replacing one is a hell of a lot cheaper than replaceing the xbox.

Ha, not so fast Disney is making hd dvd movies. I think because Japanese adult movie companies are going to use blu ray for porn. And anyway i was reading a article in scientific America ( i think its called) And they said the difference isn't big. They both use blue lasers to read the disk.

No sense in wear and tear on the unit. DVD players are so cheap...why not use one instead of playing them on a 360 which costs $400+ and takes a ton more power from the wall. not to mention, it's a bit on the load side.

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".
