I have to admit that's frustrating for both of us.

I don't really understand why the X3 has problems with chat clarity. It connects to the XBox controller using a wire just like any other headset would. Only the game sounds use the I/R transmitter. I went for wireless because I have WAY too many wires going in and out of the big hutch desk where my TV is located and you have to be a contortionist to route and unroute wires when changing out equipment. For that reason, I still like the X3 despite the chat problems.

I own the X3's and my voice never looses clarity, only when the batteries are low, which I'm sure you'd know when that is as you may know, the sound turns to shit when the batteries run low

Absolutely. Usually when he complains about the chat, a quick battery replacement fixes it right up. But every once in a while I'll get complaints with a fresh pair of batteries. Maybe that is just regular internet lag that could happen with any headset...

I hate to bre the one who pops the bubble. But my X3's are phenomenal aside from the broken mic. all sound related topics are true. However the mic suddenly stopped working.
If anyone has ne idea what the prob could be pls let me know.
I Have: switched controllers
changed batteries in both headset and cont.
twisted/push and otherwise manipulated the plug from controller to headset. no voice all the way around. old OEM headset transmits fine however.
I would wear both headsets but it feels a little ridiculous and ghetto.

What is was trying to say in my drunk state. Was that My X3's appear to have broken.
I got them used off Ebay. They worked for about a week and all of a sudden the Mic has stopped working. Online info led me to believe it was the batteries. So I went and purchased brand new batteries.
Got them in, all excited to play. Log on, no mic working.. The speaker appears next to my name. but noone can hear me..
Fiddled/manipulated the cord from phones to controller as much as possible and still no Mic.
Any Ideas? Ebay said perfect working condition. no problems. like new. and they are minus the mic.
and no i did not break it myself. I am anal about my electronics. As I am sure most of you are.

Have tried opening the the little box at the end of the cord that plugs into the 360 controller. Mabe a broken wire in there that is affecting the mic....
BTW just got my X3's...Man I cannot believe how much more awsome COD4 is with these headsets...WOW
Took less than a minute to hook them up and then another few minutes to get the mic audio mixed perfectly with the game audio...then awesomeness...

The Tritton's AX360s are okay, i would say 4/5 rating. I played only 2 games though. I thought the bass could be more like the boss set that i have tried. Sourround is great, at first i thought my sourround from home theater was on because i heard some sound to the front but was actually the headset so i like that. Gives the sorround effect. Well the bass as i was saying is not what i thought it be but the rumble vibration does help, then again im comparing it to my 7.1 home theater system, so im being biased. Mic sounds crystal clear. For late night gaming im happy with the purchase and i have no regrets.
