Here is a pic of the attachment to the controller:
The little white amplifier you see is where the controller cable connects to your controller - that's also where the mute and volume controls are. What you don't see is that the cable continues on for 16 feet and then splits into two connections:
1. One part goes to your TV audio jacks (red/white RCA pass through jacks, but I guess you wouldn't need the "pass through" feature since you're using optical for surround sound)
2. The other part goes to the USB port on the Xbox console for power.

You don't get surround sound through the X1s - but very good stereo sound. It's still good enough for me in COD4 or Halo 3 to hear which direction someone is approaching from, but obviously not as good as 5.1.

Might be a silly question, but... I looked on TB site and couldnt tell...Can they be jacked right into your reciever.. my HT receiver has a headphone jack on the front, sure be easier than moving everything around to get to the AV jacks...and can they be used with chat pad attached ? thanks !

I think you would need an adapter, unless the headphone jack on your receiver is a 3.5 mm? (I think that's what size it is) The cable on the X1 actually terminates at a small headphone plug (3.5mm?). The RCA audo plugs then connect to that jack. Assuming you could get the right size adapter I'd guess it would work straight out of the receiver.
I don't have a chat pad, so not sure if it would work or not.

Bro I think you saved me. Got the same problem with family sleeping and haven't enjoyed a decent game with sounds for ages. The few times I was alone with surround sound it was like playing a new game
I just ordered the X1 (can't bother with wireless) and CAN'T WAIT for this beauty to arrive!!! Watch out for the Scooter in COD4.
Was disappointed at first cause the site you quoted shipped to UK only and did not ship to Europe (Greece) but after I contacted them they DID
Thanks for the post.

Not to keep repeating what I and others have said, but these things are a lifesaver. I can't tell you how many nights I have gamed until 3-4 am and later with full sound not waking up the wife or dog (he bitches constantly if he knows you are awake and he is trapped in his kennel).
X1 is an incredible investment.

Thanks for the site guys. I ordered my X1 and it was shipped same day!!!
Lime XB360 | Gaming Headphones - Turtle beach | Nintendo | PC | XBox360.
For all you guys in Europe, the site's terms still say shipping to UK only but the guys at Limexb360 are really cool (ask for chris) and after my request the sent it to me and apparently they now ship all over europe. Hooray.

It's a damn shame I'm not getting a kickback from Turtle Beach for all these referrals! I had no idea when I created this thread how long it would hang around...
