Mic Problems

I have just been playing Rainbow Six Vegas and everytime i plug my mic on the little symbol that lights up for when you talk well i plugged it in and it was always lit up even when i wasnt talking and everyone was telling me to shut it off or turn the volume down and im like what have i done and i have to keep takin my mic out or people threaten to kick me

can anyone help with this please thank you

Maybe its to close to your mouth and when your breath or surrounding sounds near you may be getting picked up.

Maybe but its never happened before and it has just started happening recently but maybe ill go on now and see what happens

no i just tried it again and its the same and i ddnt hav my mic on my head so it wouldnt have been my breathing or summat

Usually its your mic being too close to your mouth. If not that then check the settings, while in game u can press the center xbox emblem button go down to options and adjust your mic sensitivity.

doesnt have to be during game but just press and release the xbox emblem button and go down to options.

I think i worked it out might be my contoller not my mic cos i took my batterys out then put them back in then its started working

I've got the opposite problem on this game and COD:4.

I can't hear anyone, and I don't think anyone can hear me.

Any advice? How do I change the sensitivity?

make sure you change your family setting so that it just isnt on friends only change it to everyone
