xbox live wireless adaptor

I'll probably have a chance to get one of these for around £25-£30.
But i was wondering do you plug it straight into the phone socket in the wall or into the router? and also how far will the adaptor be able to go range wise?

I believe you plug it into the xbox 360 and it will pic up the wireless connection. And may I ask where your getting one for that price?

It's my friends, he doesn't need it any more and he can't be bothered selling it on ebay even though he could get twice that amount

yeah i've got a wireless sky router so it should work hopefully

It slots into the console near the back USB port. Just plug it in and setup the wireless settings and you're done.

I found it a nightmare to set up. You have to configure your ip settings and even then it doesn't pick up a good enough signal for my liking.

I've order a BT Home Hub specifically for my room so that I can use the Ethernet cable and have an excellent signal all the time. I really wouldn't waste the money on it. And I will be selling mine on eBay or via here if anyone wants it once I get the hub set up.
