xbox 360 sorround sound

hi, i have a sorround sound system that i want to hook up to my 360 but the problem is my sorround sound system dosent have any digital inputs, only the 3.5mm jack inputs. is there some kind of converter i can get to convert the optical sound output of the 360 to an analog output using 3.5mm sockets?

FYI i can use my 360 with matrix mode but it isnt the same as true sorround sound.

The "ONLY" way you can get true Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound from a 360 would be with an optical digital input or an HDMI input. End of story.

A matrixed surround sound mode is the best you can get without those 2 interfaces mentioned above.

My opinion; Scrap the computer speakers and purchase a true home theater in a box solution from either Yamaha or Onkyo (the only low ends I recommend). If you cannot justify this $300 cost, you aren't going to get Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".
