Xbox 360 + Plasma TV + Surround Sound?
I just bought a new plasma TV for his xbox - full specs can be found below..
Samsung PS42Q97 Guide | Product Details - Kelkoo
I have the premium version on the xbox, bought about 3 months ago. I just bought the official hdmi cable, v.13, for xbox, but I also have the xbox 360 component cables - the 6 different cable things (the ones that came free with my premium bundle). I'm not sure whats the difference between the two, or which I should use, or what they do particularly etc.
Similiarly, I want to get surround sound, but I'm looking for a cheapish system, maybe something around 60 pounds (105 dollars roughly). Any advice or suggestions, or general help, would be amazing!

HDMI is the standard for High Defintion, so use that. And if you dont believe me, compare the picture quality of the component to HDMI.

You really can't notice any difference between the two, if there is its very very minor.

There is no picture quality difference between Component and HDMI. The industry wants you to think there is a difference because they have more copy protection mechanisms for HDMI and they want everybody to use it.
There is 1 advantage to HDMI. it carries sound and video on a single connection...so it cleans up wiring messes.

I disagree completely. You "can" see a difference between source material recorded at 1080p (like bluray or HD-DVD), but the same material played back on properly calibrated displays at 720p or 1080p to the human eye is the same at sizes well over 42" Deathwish linked to an article along time back at how it was not possible to tell on a 100"+ screen.

^ I wasn't talking about PC resolutions going to computer monitors. I'm referring to TV displays and stand alone set top box players (DVD, Blu-Ray, etc).
