360 PC Media Connect
hi guys
dont know whether this is in correct forum but here goes if someone can put me out of my misery.
i want to connect my pc and 360 together through windows media player 11.
all ports are forwarded, firewall disabled, DMZ on the 360 on, also i am using a BT Home Hub.
But when i got to windows media player 11, library, down arrow and share media, my xbox 360 doesnt show in the list in order to conenct to.
Any ideas???

if its xp go to start>run type in services.msc make sure you enable the following
Plug and Play, Windows Media File Sharing Service, UPNP, Discovery... something, im not in front of my computer to check now. After enabling those services all should work.

how do i enable them, just right click and enable?
all are their apart from UPNP Discovery that i can see

double click on them and on drop down menu select start up type automatic
click on start if service is not enabled.

If so i will have to check my PC at home and check the services that are needed. I am going from memory so i may have not worded them properly.

yes its disabled and ive added u to msn if thats ok

yes, thats fine. I will be in front of my computer in 3hrs. I can check the services required. I had the same problem before then figured it out. I would click share media and then it would take for ever with hour glass and the other window would not come up with xbox 360. Only thing i could click was cancel and not ok. After enableing the services all came up fine and then just changed source on xbox 360 to see my pc media.

in the share media box i just get nothing, no xbox symbol
