Also bare in mind that alot of the cheap battery packs on eBay are not compatable with the official cable and use an alternative cable which plugs directly into the battery pack itself instead of the controller.

Forget the play and charge kits, get the Nyko 360 Charge Base.
My friend has one, it looks awesome and charges faster than USB cables.
It plugs into a wall outlet, and lets you charge two controllers at a time, which is what I needed.

I'm just waiting to get the black+gold limited edition version that just dropped on the Nyko website, to match my elite and 4 black controllers.
