2 questions

I just bought an Xbox 360 from a friend of mine, but he told me it did not yet have the part needed to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi.

1. Where and how much is the part I need to connect to a wireless internet connection?

2. If I have a headset that can plug into a PC, can I use that on the Xbox or will I need to buy a new one specifically for the X360?

are you in the u.k or u.s?

the wireless adaptor is around £40-£50

I'm pretty sure you'll need to buy the M$ wireless headset or wired headset (which connects to the controller).

I live in the U.S.

Should the devices be easy to come by? Like walmart? There isn't a gamestop near where I live.

Yea the wireless adapters are expensive and not worth it to me. Go with wired internet if you can so much better and you don't have to worry about signal strength. With the headset thing i wouldn't know, but i would invest in the wireless mics they are pretty sweet.

1.Wireless Adapter: For the wireless adapter it is a rip off and you are better off going the extra effort and wiring through the walls or floor. For the past six months, I have been using a wire running from my router to my console, which is a pain. I tried to upgrade to wireless and started out getting the cheaper version called the pelican, which is a piece of garbage. So I returned it. I then got the M$ one which I was excited for. It wouldn't pick up the signal. After a day on the phone with M$, and trying to configiure my router, the guy from M$ determined my network adapter was faulty. I went back to the same store to exchange it, and got another faulty one. I decided to spend the money on other stuff. I am going to run the cable through my floor this weekend.

2. Headset: As long as you have a headset that is subminiature [2.5 mm] you are all set. I prefer the M$ brand but its all your preference.

With the Pelican gaming adapter, is that why my Xbox gives me the little icon of the console, and the flashing loading dots?

For the Connection

You need the Microsoft Wireless Network Adaptor Around £50 - £60 Depending on U.K Retailers

and for the headset you need a wired or wireless headset which connects to the bottom of th xbox controller !

Good luck
