Surround Sound Suggestions??

So I just got a new Samsung PN50A550 and it will be in a 16x20 room. ALso I just purchased a new 360 so of courseit will be hooked up to it but i need some help with surround sound that will work well with the TV as well as the 360. I would greatly appreciate any opinions or ideas.

Thanks

any of the Samsung home theatre surround sound systems would do you prett good.

This is the one i have Samsung HT-X30 - 5.1 DVD System - TrustedReviews

i don't think they sell that model any more cos its pretty old but look for some of the newer models. they sounds amazing.

best thing is they go for about £250 (so what about $400 - $500 in the US i guess)

Well with plasma, you don't have to worry about any speakers not being video-shielded, no magnetic interference messing up your TV.
First, figure out how many speakers you want to put in your room, 5-7 plus a subwoofer.
Then, buy a reciever that will support the speakers. I personally have an Onkyo 7.1 (7 speakers, plus subwoofer). You may wish to get one that uses HDMI ports.
For speakers, yes, bigger is BETTER. I happen to be able to have full size speakers for my 7 speakers around me, plus a 15" Subwoofer. If you don't have the room, then go smaller & configure your reciever to send the bass information to just the sub. But if you can do it, there's nothing like having full-sized speakers all around you!
If $ is a problem for speakers, then start with the reciever, and go to yard sales for speakers. Bring a friend who knows what to look for. If you have the money to buy new, get matching speakers all around.

Bigger isn't always better. It's often better to spend more money on very high quality bookshelves than spending the same amount of money on floorstanders which may not sound as nice as they are supporting bass as well as mids and highs. You must have a rather large room for a 15" subwoofer...or maybe you just like things really bass heavy.
