racing wheel d-pad button is stuck

My racing wheel (about 4 months old) d-pad is stuck. In Forza 2, on the main menu, it works fine (to select single race vs career, etc) but when I go into any other menus, like to tune the car, the right direction on the d-pad is "stuck" - doesn't look stuck, but it behaves as if I am holding the d-pad right down. If I press the d-pad left, it moves left once, then back to right.

If I use a normal controller, everything works fine, so it is deffinitely the wheel. I took it apart, and everything looked good, put it back together, no difference.

Any one seen this problem? Can it be fixed?

Thanks

I'm having the exact same problem. Did you or anyone else manage to get to the bottom of this. Everything works fine with the controller. The wheel D pad works ok outside of forza - e.g. on the XBox dashboard moving left, right, up, down etc, but in many of the menus in-game for forza 3, it gets stuck. It flicks fractionally to the next option on the menu (or on the change car screen), but then jumps back again instantly. What on earth is going on?! Only had the blasted thing 3 days. Can anyone shed any light? Many thanks in advance.

I have the exact same problem. Any solution yet? My wheel is about 10 months old and this problem just started.

I took mine apart, cleaned it, put it back together (twice) and the problem never went away. I threw my racing wheel out. I plan to get another one (I built a frame for a car seat and to mount the racing wheel), but not the Microsoft one - I'll look for something else.

It's sounds like a software issue, please email or call Xbox Support so that a bug log can be opened with the Forza team.

I don't think it is software because Forza 3 has been working fine. I tried two other racing games and had the same problem, but before, these games had been working perfectly.
I was able to get past the menus in Forza 3 and tried to race a car. At first the car would just go in circles. I turned the wheel about 3/4 of all the way left, and the car went straight. Turning it all the way left, it went left. Turning it slightly right, it went right. So my range of motion was from all the way left to just left of center. I think I need a new Wheel.

Hmm, your right, that part doesn't sound like software, but either way just call support and it will be taken care of.

Its disgusting that these bugs keep happening - its microsoft's own hardware!

As I'd had min for less than a week I took it back to the shop for a refund. Haven't bothered getting a replacement. Making do with the controller.
