Yep, my X3 is wireless, except for the mic connection to the controller. But if you're playing without the mic, you can leave that wire off if you really wanted.

So the mic plug is a small 1, the type that fit in the xbox 360 controller?

Yes. The mic wire connects from the back of the controller, like a normal mic, to the headset. It is able to be unplugged at both ends.

My X1s are pretty good, I don't use them as much these days as installing games to HDD reduces the noise. But they are good for late night sessions and FPS games, especially FPS games

I can also use them as a mic and headphones on my laptop, great clarity for audio recordings.

Ive had 3 Turtle Beaches and they all were awful. I have the Astro AX40 they might be expensive but they never break and if they do all you need to do is call the company and they'll send you a replacement no questions asked.

What do you mean, they were awful? Didn't last? Broke easily? Bad quality?
