Turtle Beach Headset

Anybody have a pair?

For those who do, is it worth the big bucks?

I have tested allot of them for work.... The 5.1 surround pair is amazing! I guess the bottom line is if you have the money to pay and a need for headphones they are worth it. It is kind of cool being able to crank a game up without bothering anyone else in the room and the sound quallity is outstanding for a gaming headset.

I don't own one, but have used one at a friend's house and must say, they are spectacular. They are 10x more comfortable and have a better sound quality than the Microsoft headsets. However, with that quality also comes a hefty price...so I wouldn't buy it. Just think, with the money you save, you could buy a few top tier games!

True, true.

What you have to ask yourself is "are the headsets really going to change my gaming experience?"

If the answer is yes, then buy them.
If the answer is no, then don't. Get a few games instead, as stated before...and voilà, decision is taken.

I don’t have the turtle beach headphones but I have a set of 5.1 gaming headphones and they are well worth the money. I play in the evenings and sometimes when the missus is sleeping so to have the sound quality and discreetness was a must buy for me.

Are the beach headset wireless?

Cause i have some gaming headphones, but the wire is too short to be useful.

The X1's are wired (16ft cord) and the X3's and X4's are wireless. The X1's and X3's are stereo output while the X4's have 5.1 audio. I had the X1's but took them back since they don't work with 3rd party hdmi cables. You need the microsoft audio adapter that comes with the microsoft hdmi cable which sets you back $50. You could look for a used one at your local gamestore. After I took mine back i stumbled upon a used adapter for $5 but it was too late. May still pick them up at a later time if I have the extra cash. Too many games coming out this fall though to justify buying gaming headphones.
