Elite faulty power brick.
Hello folks.
Im after a bit of advice if you wouldn’t mind. I had my old white xbox for 6 years before it finally got the red ring sting!. Anyhow, I recently brought a pre-owned elite from my local gamestation which has been working like a dream until this weekend, when I went to switch it on. When I pressed the power button on the console I got nothing, no fans etc. I looked at the power brick which had an orange light (which I understand is in standby and waiting for the 360 to start). It just so happens that my neighbour is an electrician, so I asked him to test it for me which he did. There was power going into the brick, but no power coming from the brick going into the console.
Its pretty obvious that there is a fault with the brick somewhere, and im wondering if these can be fixed or if I can find a replacement in any high street shops?. I would rather fix it than fork out hard cash for a new one. Ive been told the elite bricks are different from the older 360, so im not prepared to use the old one in its place.
If any one could give me any advice I would really appreciate it, as im itching to have a good thrash on it!.

How long has it been since you purchased the Elite from Gamestation??
If it was pretty recent, you should be able to take it back to them and get them to replace the power brick.

Ive had it a few Months, but im not sure on the replacement policy at gamestation. Ill have to have a look.

Do that, worst case scenario, buy a new xbox from the store, switch out the power bricks and return the xbox within the day (for a full money refund). You can always give a bullshit story about how your son wanted a PS3 instead of an xbox.
Edit: Or say how the xbox doesn't work, you want a refund (since they might test it out, to see if it has RROD or something)

Wait up. You called Xbox, told them "hey, I just bought an Elite, and it didn't have a power brick!" and they sent you one, for free?
They didn't tell you to return it to the store?

i add this with mine
you get 12 months
so if you not add it long you could ring up MS and tell them they will send you a new one out free i did it i got it in a week.
