Where does it say he flicked the switch? Its not very clear.
On the component/composite cable there's a switch labeled TV and HDTV. He should turn on the 360 with it set at HDTV then flick the switch to TV. When I did this, it reset the 360 to the right settings (I was going from CRT to HD).
