Problem after X-clamp fix

Hi,

Yesterday, my house had a powerbreak while I was playing on my xbox. When I tried to restart I got a RRoD, error code 0020. I used the x-clampfix, when I started the console to overheat the GPU, I still had the RRoD (which is normal). After overheating for 35-40 minutes, I turned it off and let it cool down for 15 minutes. I restarted my xbox and I saw the RRoD was gone so I thought the issue was solved. BUT when I reconnected my xbox to my tv, I got no screen nor audio but the xbox seems to work normal. The screen is pitch black and the "AV"-icon is on the top-left corner on the screen (which means he isnt getting any signal at all). When I unplug the AV-cable from my xbox, I get the normal 4 red light-ring.

Anyone knows what the problem might be and how to fix it?

I'd say the GPU is fried. Might still be fixable for free by m$ as it's part of the 3 yr warrantee I believe

Unfortunately, shipping it back is out of the question as well, as you voided the warrenty by opening it up?

lol I feel you. I did the same fix and now am getting the same error.

...Course, my Xbox also froze on yesterday's update.

But seriously...35-40 minutes? I usually keep mine without the fan for maybe 5-7 minutes before it gives me the 2 rings saying that it's overheating.
Good lord, I'd hate to be in that box at the time. XD

Well, I'm quite confused as well...sorry, that wasn't much help...

It was out of warranty so I had nothing to lose.

You have to overheat your GPU after x-clamp fix by putting the cooler on the CPU so you wont get 2 red rings.

I guess I will buy a new one, prolly the arcade. Does the arcade have everything except a memory card (since I can use the memory card from my broken xbox360)? Or are there more differences?

That's your problem. You are supposed to heat up the solder, not cook some eggs and bacon on the console. (Read: Heat up console for less than 10 mins). Immediately after heating up your console, you MUST tighten the bolts in a torque star pattern, or else you will crack a processor.

If the 2 red lights start flashing, you've done it wrong. Every single written guide out there tells you that. Guys, X-Clamp will only do so much, you need to reflow the board aswell
