new HDD not working properly

So get this right, i transfer all my data to my new 120gb hard drive, it said some data was corrupt but all games iv played seem to be working fine, prehaps it was a game that i hav't tried yet

Anyways, everything seems to be working fine. Except when i try and play my original xbox game "gta san andreas", it wont read it anymore, it says please download again, but its on a disc

Iv tried everything i can think of, clearing the cache, deleting my GTA save off the HDD, and neither seem to work, so what the hell guys? the game acctually works when i plug in my old HDD, so its defiantly something to do with my new HDD

anyone here know how i can fix this?

Have you tried to download the backward compatible patch again?

its a license issue, all info (or nearly all) on the HDD is married with the serial number for that HDD and will only work on that one xbox. If they are separated then they wont play nicely.

You need to find the BC update and erase it and the GTA:SA info and erase that too. Then you could re download it and it should all work.

OR
You could try doing a license transfer and that may help too. to do this sign into xbox.com and look up license transfer there will be a tut that shows you how to do this.

Thats the extent of what I know about it.

As far as i know there is no way to delete the BC update, and i have no GTA:SA saves or anything either, i deleted them off to try and make the game work

and i cant do a license transfer because i already did one a few months back and they only let you do license transfer like once every 6 months, stupid microsoft

X2 that situation really sucks. I suggest you go buy an original xbox for like $20-$25 bucks and not deal with MS BS for the 360.

I already own an original xbox, not that i use it, its just collecting dust under neath my desk aha

Theres no need to get it out anyway, because GTA SA will work on my xbox 360 when i use my old 20gb hard drive that i originally had, i just wish i could use my new 120gb hard drive so i wouldnt have to keep switching between the 2

*sigh* looks like ill just have to hang onto my old hard drive and use that for my original xbox games But this means i wont be able to play any of them over xbox live
