Does graphics quality differ between VGA cable and HDMI cable?
Hey guys, sorry for asking such an idiotic question. But I had to know this before I go on spending some more bucks on HDMI cable, for xbox.
Thing is, I do have an HD monitor, but I am using standard VGA cable to connect my xbox to it. I was wondering if buying a new HDMI cable can actually provide me a bit better graphics. I am not so sure, if it should make a difference, but still, got to know. Can't spend money worthy of 2 games, if the cable doesn't justify the investment.

No need, you can access the same resolutions on either. Sometimes more out of a VGA cable in my experience.

I started out with VGA, then went to component, and finally HDMI.
VGA's colours are a little washed out compared to component. I noticed quite a bit of difference in the colour quality. But going from component to HDMI wasn't as much of a difference.
So essentially, yes. You should see a bit of a difference in the colour quality. Whether it's justified or not depends on how picky you are with your picture quality.
You won't notice much difference besides the colour, though.

Difference in colour quality is acceptable, considering that's something I can adjust in my monitor's settings. I was playing FIFA 09 and was able to see a few minor glitches in graphics, so I thought may be its because of using a VGA cable. Thankfully, I don't have to buy a new cable now, just cuz of an ill-designed game. Thanks a lot, for your response.

My 360 is hooked up via VGA to a monitor and my brother's 360 in the living room is hooked up via HDMI to a 32" Samsung. When playing on both and comparing I don't see any difference at all. Both looked quite the same to me on the same games too.
