Switching hard drives

My 360 has surprisingly managed to last over a year thus far and when it does inevitably get the RROD, I want to buy another 360, while broken 360 is being repaired. Instead of spending $300 on a 60Gb 360, I was wondering if my current 60Gb hard drive would fit onto a 20GB 360 and still work? This would save me a little money from buying another 60Gb console. Thanks for any help on this.

Yes, all xbox hdd's are interchangable. You can use a 20 gb on a 360 elite and vice versa. Hdd capacity doesn't make a difference.
