Red face Replace BENQ Drive

Recently posted regarding the Open Tray error. I got an excellent reply from wesso2008 -thanks again - but the problem is that he's only got knowledge of how to replace Samsung or Hitachi drives using the "only replace the drive, keep the pcb" method. My problem is that I've got a Benq drive and it seems that this isn't as simple a job as the 2 other types.

Bear with me here as I know next to nothing about XBox 360 ins and outs so please correct me if I'm wrong. I gather that if I replaced the whole drive i would have to use the same type of drive that came out right down to the model type and have to flash it with the original drive identification.
Would this not effect XBox Live? If not, does anyone know of a procedure to replace a Benq and how to flash it? I can't seem to find anything by searching.
Thanks.....

I got your PM but as I haven't got the 15 posts required I can't answer. Just to clear things...I don't want to flash if it will affect XBox live..
