Xbox 360 HDD
i have a 20gb hdd but it only has 13.9gb capacity. i have used around 8.8gb and have 5.1gb free....why cant i use the rest of it? why is it a 20gb hdd if i cant use the full 20gb?

The system and regular updates takes a few gigs from the hard drive. Usually in any hard drive, it's never exactly the number they promise. It's always a bit less.

lol i got a 20GB yesterday samthing with me I only got 13.9 and after installing gears of war I got like 7 left ...

Yup, I wouldn't be so bitter about using 20 GB if the system it's self doesn't take that much space up. I can only install two games at a time if I'm lucky. |

I always wondered why the 20 has only 7GB missing but the 120 is missing like 14 or 20ish...  OOOH MS

Well even in PC's if they say 200gb harddrive you won't get 200gb cause of system settings same with the Xbox
I bet the NXE system with the avatar takes up abit

Ok but really a 512mb memory card and run it so why am I missing nearly 20GB on my HDD its just dumb.
