my new Xbox 360, questions
allright, so instead of waiting for the limited edition one, i went out this weekend and got myself Elite plus Best Buys 2 year replacement plan. not happy about $79 it cost, but it is what it is.
the only thing i dont like about my xbox so far, is the fact its so loud. is that normal? how loud is too loud? i think its even louder then my old xbox.
everything works great so far. system itself is great. but damn its loud. especially when its loading up games and stuff.
btw, i have it laying down on the side. should i put it up horizontally? whats the deal here?
or should i go back, complain that its way too loud and try to get another one?
thanks

You can avoid some of the noise by installing the games to the HDD, but its still a bit noisy after that. I have it lying horizontally too, I'd recommend leaving it that way. A lot of people have scratched rings in discs from where its been moved while powered on, knocked over etc.
If the noise really bothers you you can get either turtlebeach or skullcandy headphones that route the game audio through them, and can be used as mics too..

Leave it horizontal and the loudness should be acceptable. check where the power pluggs in and you should see 12V~16.4A or 14.2A or 12.1A which one does yours read it will help us decide if you should keep this one.

thanks, im keeping it, noise doesn't bother me too much, i just turn up volume more and enjoy the game.
but what someone said earlier trying to install games on my hard drive, i have 120 gig drive, so it has 104 free gigs.
if i install a game and once i beat it, and want to make room, can i just delete it to make space? but keep all my saved data, you know my profile and stuff in that game?
or is installing wont make any noise difference?
thanks

Makes a HUGE difference, and when you delete the game from the HDD it will only delete the install not the game saves or profile or anything important. there are a few games that are recommended to run from the disk like Halo 3. IDK why they mentioned that the load times are hindered by game install, most games will load about 50%-60% faster.

kool, maybe ill try installing some.
btw how do you know which games are recommended to run of Disk/ and which are better of HDD
i've been playing OBLIVION, amazing game, it has some long load times. its 2 disk Game of Year edition so it has 2 expansion packs.
o maybe you can answer anohter question for me.
when i first set up my exbox it asked me for optimal video output. i selected 1080p since thats what my LCD is.
does it automatically play games on best resolution that game can be played on? or do i have to adjust anything for every game?
thanks
