Halo 3: ODST just will not work...

I'm pretty sure that this is where this thread belongs...as I think this might involve my console

So a while ago I got Halo 3: ODST, and it wouldn't read past the third level on the campaign and just wouldn't load on the multiplayer one. Now, after going back and forth to best buy, I'm on my fourth disc, and they all freeze at the same place on both discs, all four times. I don't know if this is an issue with console or not, because it only does this with THIS game. Microsoft told me that the discs weren't working because they were not in the correct region, and the one's I've had are apparently made in Puerto Rico and Mexico, and they still don't work.

So what could be wrong? Im on my fourth copy and nothing seems to be working.

Can someone tell me how this is not the answer to the question... ???

If its the wrong region then that would explain why it doesnt work... hmm...... I think that answeres another question in a different forum in the world wide web... hmmm......

No need to flip out...I've had Puerto Rico discs, I was told those will not work, and I've had Mexico discs, and after being told they would work, they did not.

I'm looking for another cause, because that region stuff obviously is not my solution. My Gears of War 2 is made in Mexico and works flawlessly.

Sorry that post was more of a pondering post. On anouther Forum there is this guy with a problem with his disk too. its with ODST as well. He tried 2 disks brand new each. I was not able to help him but I never though of region being wrong.

I wonder how widespread this issue is. Try a new disk from the dev.

So now I put in my friend's Halo 3, just the regular one, and that wont read after like two matches.

Why would these games not load but I can play, CoD4, Gears, and all those games just fine?

Put finger prints all over the bottom side of the disk to make it appear dirty and try it then. ( it has worked for me in the past )

So, somehow, you're saying that making the disc dirty with a ton of finger prints makes your xbox some how read the disc?

It has worked for me in the past. I cant explain why but with one system I had it would NOT play a brand new disk. I would literally take it out of the packaging and try to play and no go. Immeadiatly try again nothing tried placing disk in different position to help it read nothing. finger prints all over and it would read all day no errors.
