Here is a question that I cant find the answer for on this thread (Okay, I only checked 6 of the 10 pages).

I have recently bought an X-Box having been talked into getting one (everyone where I worked had one and raved about it). I bought it with getting X-Box Live as one of the pulls. This is where my problem comes.

I cant access it. I bought a new modem to combat the probelm, one specially designed for games consoles and it still didnt work. The Modem I have is a BT Voyager 190 ADSL.

My problem is, I request X-Box Live and it says "could not connect" and advises me to have do the test connection to see where my problem is.

It recodgnises my IP Address but not my DNS settings. I have contacted X- Box (ho havent got back to me) and I just dont know what the problem is.

Does anyone know how I can get around it and why my DNS settings are not passing the test?

Right my xbox has just bloody died!! I was downloading the demo for Tony hawks & i heard a really loud grinding noise! I tryed to eject the disk (btw i wasnt even playing it! it was on the main xbox screen) but now the bloody thing wont eject! its the same thing Ifti had! but the problem is my gears of war disk is now stuck! am taking it back to gamestation on saturday, as i bought it on the 18th of october 2006. so am lucky! but what do i do about my disk? i can get it out no problem but it means breaking the console & i doubt gamestation will take it back then! should i just wait & let them get it out. I think its buggered as it sounded like it was getting scratched to hell!

Well update! i thought i would try my xbox one more time just in case ( my luck would be it would work as soon as i got into the shop) & guess what, it worked, gave my disk back! unscratched too! Anyway i opened & closed the tray & then it wouldnt open again, i tried it again about an hour later & it worked for good that time. I thought "typical"
I bet it will work right up till my years warranty runs out!
anyway i broke the disk drive myself, ( just popped a wee white thing off & the wee rubber band that runs the drive) as it was working every so often, I dont feel bad & they wont be able to tell as you really cant open the tray now! but at least i will get a new 360.

If your disc gets stuck in there again - remove the faceplate and use a paperclip in the manual release hole - just like you do on a normal DVD drive in your PC. Thats what I had to do.

Does your power light on the 360 flash continuously as soon as you power it up, or does it stay on solid?

Well i wont be putting any disks in it again now! & the light flash's continuously. like i said i was just downloading a demo & it started flashing & making a grinding noise! but now it just flash's. why what does that mean? i thought it just meant the tray was trying to eject!

hey guys, i just got an xbox 360, like a week back ! got a question.. i just wanted to know if u can take a dvd game and store it on to the xbox hard drive..and if it is possible ,then how do i go about it ? thanks in advance !
