i have the same tv and i sit very close to it about 2 feet so its a nice size,but like everyone i want a bigger one but i got it as a gift so im not complaining

Yes, the Elite is black, but not a gloss black. It looks nice, but damn, I have not seen a single good picture of one on any forum. I'll try taking one later without the flash, that seems to make the system look so bad.

This is the best elite pic that i've seen so far, I guess it looks better without the flash; Microsoft should have painted the elites a deep deep dark black.

It is a deep dark black, its just matte and not gloss, so in pictures with flashes they look grey. Its the same as cars and cell phones painted flat or matte black, they look grey in pictures with flashes.
If you take a picture of a psp, it looks black because of the glossy finish.
