Thanks guys,
Nah, the sound system is all looks with only a little substance. It's a pretty cheap Home Theatre in a Box package from Sony. The whole setup, including amp and speakers, cost about the same as just a mid-range Yamaha amp without any speakers.
It does put out enough sound for the room it's in, though.

Yah, i dont like it. Seems as though u dont have the full sorround effect since you have all speakers in one area. The speakers are bigger than your tv.

'Tis true.
I live in a rented house. To get the speaker wires to the rear means I either have to run the cables across the middle of my loungeroom and trip over them while they look ugly as hell or be sneaky and try to drill holes without the landlord picking up on it. Still might give it a try if I can be bothered.
They used to be used as rears properly when I lived with my parents who owned their house, but it's no longer an option.
And what's wrong with having speakers bigger than the TV? I don't sit that far from the TV, so the size is fine, and I have have tunes blasting through the house and be able to hear it no matter which room I'm in.

Is getting an area rug an option and then run cables under it? I dont recall the picture but if its carpet just pull the carpet up and run the cables. Carpet would be only attached at the edges by a peice of wood with spikes.
