Premium this, Gold that...
OK.. I'm looking at purchasing an XBox from ebay(please don't worry about that part of it, i'm convinced this is the route for me). My question lies in the different versions of the XBox that seem to be available..
For example, i see:
XBOX 360
XBOX 360 CORE
XBOX 360 PREMIUM
XBOX 360 GOLD
or PLATINUM
or SILVER
What the heck... someone give me a hand here, are these HARDWARE upgrades or are these just added items to the bundle? I notice "Premium" is sometimes used in conjunction with the GOLD/PLAT/SILVER designations. Does this mean Premium is a newer model with all the same bundles, or what?
Does the actual box report the same PREMIUM/GOLD/SILVER/PLATINUM designation, or do all the boxes say CORE?

There are 2 packages the xbox 360 core thats just the console and a controller
the premium is the console with a hard-drive and a controller
The Gold account is for live
so is silver you get more with the gold account but it costs more

You want to get the Xbox 360 Premium pack mate thats with all the hardware. The Core pack is just for those gamers who don't want to use the full 360 experience example Live.

Core and premium are the ones that microsoft have put out to the public and to stores. However, many stores and people like to bundle their systems with other stuff and use names such as "gold" or "platinum".
EDIT:A Gold system is not to be confused with a gold live subscription, or a silver live subscription. Those are separate things.

More than likely it's just bundles. Gold=Xbox gold membership probably for a certain amount of time. Platinum...who knows with different bundles they could call 'em whatever they want. But the core is 360, wired controller, wires, and Xbox silver (1 month free gold in some cases. Premium is wireless controller, 20g hard drive, wires, Xbox silver (gold same as the core). Get the premium or at least one with a hard drive as they are $100 and would make up the price. You need a hard drive to download demos and to play reg. xbox games. As for the rest just ask and find out exactly what you're getting, compare prices, and make an educated decision.
