PS3 Vs. Xbox 360

Im not a huge fanboi of any console out right now. I own a gamecube and a PS2. I wasn't really a fan of the original X-box, and I didn't think twice about getting a new console after hearing about the release of the 360, ps3 and wii. But over the past couple weeks, after looking at a lot of the gameplay of the games coming out over the next while, im really starting to like the idea of getting a console. As of now, im looking at an Xbox 360 or a PS3. Looking at the PS3 in my research, I kinda like the sound of what I hear better then the 360, however, do people think the console will be that far ahead of the 360 to justify the price tag. Now I know posting on a Xbox forum, its going to be all "GET 360 PS3 SUXX", however, im moreso looking for unbias information relating the two. I don't want to hear any "Sony sucks because they let people down" (I don't feel like I was let down whatsoever on the PS2) or whatever subjects like that; im looking for points about the consoles themseleves to help enlighten me. Ive heard that use of the "new" core processor may be an issue since it hasn't really had the opportunity to be tested in many game development environments for the PS3. As well as people saying blu-ray is falling behind HD could be signs that HD stands stronger (I don't know much about the two, but my conclusion about that is the blu-ray is a lot more expensive, so less people buy it). I hear things like the Xbox360 has lag issues and overheating issues, even after the first gen-consoles from actual 360 owners; and also I CONSTANTLY hear from 360 owners that they wish they had just waited and saw the PS3 before making a decision because they weren't happy with the 360.

Im just here for information because, I know it will be better to wait for the PS3 to come out before making a final decision, but id like at least some information from unbias 360 owners.

Also, please don't use Halo 3 as a selling point for the 360, because Halo 1 and 2 were the most overrated and boring games (lazer gunz pew pew) of our life time

(I know this point will cause some drama, but its all in good fun)

no man if you look at the entire pile of good games coming out for the 360 then there isn't really a choice. the ps3 rocks, but not worth that much cash, its only a little if any better than the xbox 360. look at gears of war and all the other games coming out by the end of the year

PS3 has built in Blu-Ray drive. If you value that, than the console is a bargain. In my opinion, there are quite a few more games for the Playstation than for the Xbox I also believe that the sony online gaming is going to be free, where you have to pay $5 a month or so for the Xbox Live membership.

Sony has been and will likely continue to be the market leader of the consoles. I don't really think you can go wrong with Sony on a Playstation.

I have an Xbox360 and do like it quite a bit. I plan to also get a PS3 for nothing more than Gran Turismo (yeah, I like it that much and nothing else even comes close).

really, pick the system with the games you enjoy. Theres nobody that can say one is better then the other, because we wont know what the ps3 is like until its out.

Yeah I would say just go with the console that has the best games. The PS3 will probably have better graphics than the 360 but not by much. Also, if you have HD and a blueray intrests you than the high price tag of the ps3 might be worth it. Just wait for it to come out and check out reviews and see the list of games that intrest you and pick from there.

i personally wouldnt invest any money into anything with a blu ray player until i know that blu ray will succeed as a format, and as of right now its not looking too good. consumers know what hd dvd is but not blu ray. and the consumer is who will choose the new format.

about 360 vs ps3. the 360 just has a hoard of great games coming out and the ps3 is going to be pretty stale until mgs4 and ffxiii come out. so when sony fans are playing average launch titles we'll be playing the best nex gen games ever.

Guys don't even state PS3 Online for a statement on which is better, PS2 Online was a joke and it was free. I love paying for LIVE because that gives Microsoft the incentive on to improve and maintain the quality of the Xbox Live in which I pay for and do not mind at all.

I am in the same boat with ya.
I have gamecube and ps2. I didn't like xbox especially because Halo 1 and 2 didn't impressive me at all. The only game I liked in xbox was Ninja Gaiden and it was actually very impressive and better than any other games that I played in GC and ps2.

Anyway, xbox360 improved since then. They got at least more than 1 good games that impressive me unlike the only one game that impressived me in xbox and so that already gives me the reason to think of getting xbox360.

I personally got very super ultra disappointed after watching blue dragon and lost odyssey and the dead rising didn't hit my expectation so basically I expect Lost planet, Gears of War, and Bioshock. Halo3 and Halo wars are gonna be another bit hit but I didn't like halo 1 and 2 so I just need to wait and see.

Lost planet looks amazing but it's made by capcom. Whenever they say exclusive, it means they will make it for other platform, too.

As of PS3, I am not a big fan of MGS unlike many people and tekken is getting old for some reason. DMC4 didn't look that impressive. The only games I expect are FF,DQ, Z.O.E, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

My personal preference says....
Xbox 360 = lost planet, gears of war, bioshock
PS3 = FF, DQ, Z.O.E, Ninja Gaiden Sigma

both of the consoles will have...
Assassin's creed, GTA4(xbox360 has 2 exclusive downloadable episodes), and winning eleven.

I am also having trouble of which console is better.
Both consoles have almost equal amount of games that I want.
PS3 is 100 dollars more expensive than xbox360 premium.
Both consoles look almost equal but ps3 will actually go step ahead in 3~4 years later. And PS3 came out 1 year late so it will have more games in the end.

I gave u my opinion and it's ur job to choose which one is better if u have to choose one.
