You need to install the .NET framework for the software. You can get it from the microsoft web site. Go to the download section and search for .NET framework.

Here is a direct link

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".

The .net framework is a bitch. You've got to make sure you're installing exactly the right version, ect.

It would be beneficial to check out the windows update website to ensure you have everything thats required of your system to do so:

Have you tried installing Media Connect after installing dotnetfix? It should just work after that.

Can I just DL windows media and then load it up. Also, what are the positives of this. I don't have hardly any music and NO movies on my comp. Would it be a waste of time?? One more thing, I heard that Vista is going to automatically do what Windows Media does and more...should I just wait for that?

I'm running Vista. It does everything! Great to run the 360 with. You'll need to buy Vista Home Pro, Vista Home Media Center or Vista Ultimate to have it work properly with the 360, though. I'm currently running Ultimate.

However, all you need is Windows Media Connect (a program to share music and pictures), not Windows Media Center (which is an entirely different version of windows).

Oh. Time had some shots of Vista in it's current magazine. It looks awesome!!! I hope it does the things that MS has needed to do for a long time. You have any idea about prices for Vista?
