HD DVD quality

I went to digital life today. woooooo!!! lol, anyway... I saw the HD DVD quality ( for the 360), i wasnt too impressed . The picture looked very grainy, slightly better than a regular DVD. I thought to myself, maybe its the TV or its not connected properly. I was looking around and the regular HD DVD's (not 360) quality were grainy as well. I stopped by the Blu Ray booth, and it looked crystal clear. I was shocked at how clear it looked. Im very disappointed with HD DVD, and actually having second thoughs on whether I should get the HD DVD add on

I've read reviews, and the picture quality right now between blu ray and hd-dvd isn't supposed to be that apparent right now. I suspect something was amiss there.

Yeah it probly had to do with the TV's...it annoys me because I have a Standard def. sony 27", and It looks better than my friends HDTV Samsung 32". Its not even that I wanted to make it like mine was better because a few other people agreed.

then again, the only tvs they used were toshiba's, while sony used their tvs. but still every blu ray movie they were showing were so clear. im probably gonna have to go to best buy or circuit city to see how they look there since that use a different variety of tvs.

I heard about the HD-DVD player not having a HDMI port, which is bad, cause few TV's are able to receive HD format through a vga cable. So basically, unless you have a very special TV, the HD-DVD player won't give you HD quality anyways.

yes but component cables give you HD quality, small difference betweem HDMI (being slightly better) and component, and I have seen the difference.
