I may actually be wrong innovators are the first like 3%, early adopters next 15% and then the next 30% are early majority. I dunno, I guess I was just being pretentious.
I meant that its not like you pulled that out of yer arse, I was talking to the other guy. Some people just do not understand how far companies will go.

Come on people, this is "MICROSOFT" we're talking about. Does anyone know how much money is in their coffers??? They can supply as much of anything as they want, they're just building demand. Once that demand is built, they release their massive supply of 360's. THEY WILL MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A 360 UNDER EVERY CHRISTMAS TREE THIS YEAR!!! They didn't release it in time for the holiday season, just so they wouldn't have enough..............As for the money that they lose whenever they sell a 360, it's money well spent when people aren't buying Ps3's or Revolutions when they come out.

They can ship all the units they want for xmas, but the fact is, in light of the failures being reported people will not buy them unless they have some degree of assurance that the bugs have been fixed. Releasing a buggy initial system was a huge mistake. but you are 100% correct on your theory about the marketing gimmick (obviously). You'll be able to pick one up for xmas easily, just make sure the problems have been resolved or you could be buying a $400+ headache.

well microsoft plans to have 10 million consoles shipped by the end of 2006 http://www.xbox360news.com/Blogs/News/hqs/blr_981.aspx.. so if thats not enough for us to get it before christmas then i guess we're out of luck.. but to me that sounds like a lot
and i agree with the whole marketing gimmick.. cuz well its a brilliant idea.. who wouldnt do that if your trying to hype up your biggest product of the year! Everybody just needs to be patient if you dont already have one.. things are gonna be back to normal sooner or later

Why should the UK wait for the USA's demand to be filled? We are waiting too, like you were. We pre-ordered too, like you did. Be thankful that you got a shipment more than a week before us, not jelous!!
jeeze..

I'm so sick of this.
How do you know?
Did you get the production rates and shipping /production numbers from forbes? No? Didn't think so.
I did.
You are wrong.
They already set aside the consoles to be delivered to the UK and Japan, so they have tons of consoles but they're not going to the US... the consoles they have to ship to UK and Japan
You Sir are an idiot.
I win.

Or we could stop flooding ourselves with the same rumors/theories of msft having a gimmick; and say it is possible that microsoft screwed up.

Look ANYWHERE. 5 minutes spent in google and you can find what I'm going to say:
M$ cannot force the production of silicon, no one can. Because of the extensive use of silicon and the number of production facilities they have they can produce an estimated 100,000 360 consoles PER WEEK. They began production 10 weeks before US launch. Do the math, that's 1million units.
Divide that up among US, UK, and Japan and you have a shortage.
