So let me get this straight...

In 5 days the xbox 360 will be released in the UK...but won't that just make it harder for microsoft to manufacturer the system to release in the other parts of the world? If they can't keep it in stock in the US now, will releasing it in the UK make it worse for the US. (I have nothing against the UK, just maybe in 5 days msft will release that other few million that they want to sell within 90 days.)

That is not the problem. It is a marketing gimmick, they are raising demand.

Then how long does this gimmick last? They are losing money with this "gimmick" unless they release a lot of games and a lot of consoles all of a sudden on one day.

It is very complicated, considering they loose over a 100 dollars for each actual 360 they sell. But they need to sell a lot in order to get moeny from other products.

It is a complete marketing plan. They are using early adopters, you and I, to build buzz and demand by us not being able to get the system immediately. They are building DESIRE, even in the most desirable unit of their target market so that they will talk up the system. We are going to be the "sales force" moving forward after the intial launch craze they created with the "limited" release. The secrecy will keep us searching, wanting the hardware through the new year. We will basically have an orgasm when we receive it and they hope this "climax" will be vocalized on the internet boards, etc.

We, you and I, will sell the 3 million units in 90 days. Now, in 30 days, all MS has to do is supply them....they will sell easily.

Faulty equipment, etc, whether it is real or not, is an issue of you usually pay attention to the squeeky wheel. In other words, people who are nothaving problems are not posting everywhere to say, Hey guys, just so you know my Xbox works, they are posting I got MY Xbox, waited ....hours etc, posting about games, hdtv etc.

It is all REALLY a brilliant marketing plan. Yes they are pissing off SOME hardcore gamers, but you know what? They don't care, they know you will buy one anyway. They are using you, to sell more in the long run.

O and do you know why you have all the bundles? Because they need something to make up the loss they are taking on each unit.

Happy Gaming!

That was a little scary..you saying "you and me..and orgasm and climax" but you do have a theory. But will they make us wait a whole another month and through christmas?

o come on, you and me, orgasm....clomax, that made the whole theory an interesting read...

Honestly, I doubt it. I think there will be one huge shipment before christmas. I think there will be smaller shipments throughout.

But I know for a fact, Dell marketed the 360 very quietly and they took orders for units they KNEW they would have. They knew when and how many units they were getting. It is the week of December 12 - 16.......

i would look for the BIG shipment around that time. It kind of makes sense. USA launch, big hype, short supply. UK launch, big hype, short supply.

Big shipment 10 days before christmas, mad rush to sell them all right before Xmas.,,,

I am not certain but who knows.

sorry if i have too many typos, been drinking vodka watching football.

We are actually "innovators" because we are now taking a risk buying systems that could be faulty. We could be considered "early adopters" and "early majority as well".

It is not a theory it is marketing which is like politics and war, controlling the masses.

exactly, but it is a theory of exactly what they are trying to do. Unless you know exactly their business plan it is a theory or hypothesis what they are doing on the future shipments.

Been a few years since I got my marketing degree and been drinking, so don't hang me.

and your right about the innovators. I forgot those quick buying.....jk
