What does that button do?

I cannot figure out what the button on the fron tof the 360 does. It is to the right of the memory card slots. I think it might be to get thee faceplate off, but could not find anything in the manual or online about it.

its to sync new controllers. if your friends bring their controllers over. you hit that button and then hold the tiny white button on the front of the controller above the batt pack.
