Am I supposed to get a month free of xbox live gold with my purchase of a 360 pro bundle? I keep seeing other people who's bundles have given them a free month of gold/silver, can't remember which.

yes the premium bundle give's you one months free gold live, it is acticated once you've created your xbox live gamertag (once you choose it your stuck unless you want to pay £5.00 to change it)

you'll be fine, had no problems with my 360 when it updated, only a small majority had problems, don't know what could have happened with them.

It may have been beefing up the security a little too much and blocking out stuff they didn't want to block out on accident.
