NO actually it says this: "To access media files, including video, audio, and pictures, from a Windows XP–based PC, you need a simple Ethernet connection from the Ethernet port on the back of your Xbox 360™ console to your PC"
Read the whole thing next time.

No but ive done it with my rca 512mb player...its pretty simple. you plug it in, go to dashboard then media, music and select portable media and you can easily stream music off of it. I dont know how fast the batteries would go down but I assume it would last awhile but eventually die. I also got my pc networked with my xbox 360 and right now I can stream music, videos and pictures so it's cool.

yah i plugged in my digi cam and set a pic of my SRT-4 as my background on my dashboard. pretty sweet. i wish i could set a diff pic for each blade, but its all good.
