Those help? I thought it gives you extra outlets for stuff. I never knew it helps with power outages.

What, do you live in the dark ages? Why no surge protector???? It could just as easily fuck up your TV and your computer.

Yeah dude I payed 30 bucks for an AR power conditioner with a 500,000 connected equipment garuntee. Just get one, there's no excuse these days.
Also there's a difference between a powerstrip and a surge protector, for whoever thought it just gives you extra outlets.
Plus, I'm fairly sure the powerbrick has some sort of built in surge protection.

This will sound crazy, but if you are going to invest in a decent surge protector, you might actually want to get a computer UPS (un-interruptible power supply). the benefit here is that the battery feeds "constant" regulated power to the console. They also function as surge supressors.
APC makes wonderful UPS's and their warranties are fantastic. And they can be had for about $40, which isn't much more than a "good, quality" surge supressor. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1122655672352
