On Light Is Red?
I got my box yesterday but didn't have too much time to do anything, so I set it up and turned it on and it worked, so I did the whole english, time, timezone thing and then I threw in perfect dark zero and played it for only about ten minutes. I finally realized that there was a switch on the component video cord that switches it from t.v to hdtv so I flipped it (when the console was off) and the power button (which is normally green) turned red and started flashing, there is also no picture on my screen either. This does not have to do with overheating because I just turned the damn thing on. What is going on? I turned off the console and pushed the component cord from the console end into the xbox incase of a loose connection and when I turned it on the light turned green but still no picture. I am still going to play around with it because I think their should be a simple solution but if anyone else out there is having these same symptoms please let me know if you figured it out or if there is a problem with my console?

all 4 lights, but guess what? it worked when I took out my component from the back of the console and put it back in again. But then I turned off the console and when I turned it on I got the same 4 lights flashing? Talk about erratic behavior. It says if you have it hooked up to HD in the back of your t.v to switch the cord behind the xbox to HD but when I do that it blinks red (all four lights). Even in t.v mode I think it has done this.

sorry to break it to you but that is a sign you have a defective xbox. Everytime I've seen people talk about the 4 flashing lights being red all those peoples xbox's needed repairs.

just try and play it in standard deff. maybe your cable is faulty

do you have a hd-tv? if not, keep the switch on standard deff

actually there are different flashing patterns, and depending on the pattern it could be over heating or someting. If it's three flashin lights than it is a hard ware problem.

Did u try just flipping the componet cables back to TV instead of HDTV?
