Aussie vs UK Region Compatibility
Hows it? Ok my apologies in advance so here goes, yes I am a noob, yes I have used the search function, I honestly don't believe my question has been answered elsewhere on the forum but like I say I'm sorry if it has: -
Ok I'm in Aussie, I have a PAL 360, am I going to be able to buy pal games from the UK and play them ok down here or would they need to be the "region free" games as featured at play-asia etc. I mean are all PAL games 100% interchangeable between Aussie systems and UK systems, I understand PAL is the same but have they done something to differentiate wether a game purchased in the UK could be played on an Aussie Xbox?
Cheers Dudes

I've answered it in a thread somewhere a while back, but I can't find it either.
You should be safe. We get the UK versions of games down here.

A mate of mine got a copy of Saints Row that was marked as UK-PAL, but I hear it's region free anyway. So no, I don't know anyone who's actually done it. I'm only going off information I've seen on a few other sites.
If you've already ordered the stuff keep us posted. I reckon you'll be fine, though.

Yep have already posted I've ordered Saints Row ($63) Dead Rising ($58) and Winning Eleven Six aka Pro Evo ($58), winging its way down under hopefully should be here in the next few days so I certainly will post up what happens, those prices are cheaper then retail here in Aus right? I've been browsing JB and EB etc. but the games all seem to be up over a hundred bucks still...
Anyways thanks for your assistance so far I'll post up as soon as I know the crack

Yeah, I usually get my games through www.gameshopaustralia.com or play-asia.com. The only time I'll buy from a store is when I get a game from my son. I'll go to EB and get the 1 year scratch protection for his games since he's pretty rough.

if it says PAL on it then all PAL games will be compatible. The is no difference between different countries if they are both PAL

So your saying that there is no region coding on the PAL games like there are with the DVD regions? for example despite both nations sharing PAL the UK has Region 2 discs where as Aussie is 4...

Yup. I've read that the 360 regions for games are PAL, NTSC-J (Japan), and NTSC (US). Which is why I said you should be safe. I can't find anything to distinguish UK and Aussie PAL titles. The simple fact being that Australia's gaming market is too small to justify it's own region.

yeh its looking good I checked that site you posted and they have been bought by a UK game site 365 games (free shipping to Aussie as well) so they must be shifting the Brit games down here right?
play.com has an awesome sale on, standard air mail to Aussie from the UK is $3.90 and usually takes about five days not sure if Play deliver direct to aussie I used free delivary within the UK and got a buddy to fwd them on to Aussie for me, all in all dead rising for under sixty five bucks thats cheaper then anywhere in Aus right? (provided it works! )
