Question:
What can you do when you have your PC & 360 connected?

Hi MChair, basically your 360 can see and play music files, video files and phots onto your TV from your PC

Yeah, my PC isn't even there anymore.
I've changed nothing, it just stopped recognising my PC.
I've taken the 360 off WMP11 and then put it back on so WMP11 can see my 360 my y 360 can't see my PC

I did a guide for using ORB in a thread that mike made but its not been picked up...maybe it should be added into this thread.
when your pc's connected with your 360 you can stream pics and music but if you use orb or tversity you can stream your AVI's from your pc to your 360.

I'm using a Linksys WRT54G in client mode in place of the official Wireless Adapter and while I can get on Xbox Live just fine, my PC refuses to connect to the Xbox, saying that it can't find a Windows Media Extender after entering the eight digit code from the Xbox during the setup utility.
Has anyone been able to stream media using this setup (wired connection to a bridged router) in lieu of the officail adapter?

I would say you need to open up the required ports on the bridged router, since the connection is going through the router to get to the PC... I'm not exactly sure, since it's not a standard setup you have there.
Log into your router and open up the following to the 360:
Both TCP and UDP
1900
3390
3776
3932
5555
7777
See how you go with that.

So, If I'm right, my understanding is that
With Media Centre installed, I can rip all my songs/videos etc to my xbox360
Without, Media Centre but with using only WMP11 I can only stream them.
Is that right??

Hey guys.
I'm thinking of buying an Elite with Bioshock, but with only a 14" portable tube telly from 1998 in my bedroom I'm wondering if there is a way to connect a 360 to my computer and use it as a monitor. I have an iMac G5 (all-in-one) which has lots of inlet ports at the back, one of which I'm pretty sure could be used for connecting such devices, but really have no idea how to do so, or if it's possible.
Some clarity would be greatly appreaciated and would save me buying a new telly!
