I think an Elite or the Premium. Elite comes with HD.

Comes with HD? What are you talking about? HD graphics or the hard drive? Both consoles come with both, so I don't see what your point is.

and to continue... if he meant HDMI... elites come with HDMI and the newest production line of premiums also comes with an HDMI output.

I'm not sure if the Elite is worth it. I mean basically you get the larger Hard drive and HDMI cable. But since the Premium already has that now, the only thing left is the Hard drive. Is a larger hard drive what you need? Are you gonna be downloading tons of movies with your 360?
Or you can wait till the rumored arcade version. It's basically the core, but with a 512 memory card and some arcade games. Rumored to come out Christmas time.

Well it looks like it's here. Is this a good deal or should I still go for the Premium?

Well, it's been a while. I never did get my 360 last year, but I'm looking again. Last time the Premium seemed to be the way to go for my use. Do you guys still agree? Would the Arcade get me through? I'm looking forward to your answers!

I would recommend the premium, but if you want you could get the elite. I am a fellow RPG enthusiast, and I highly reccomend Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion as a definite choice for your first RPG. Another good one is Mass Effect.
If you purchase the Arcade pack, you will highly regret it. Part of the Xbox 360 experience is downloading add on's, which require significant space. Also, game saves take up some space too. You will also want the headset for xbox live. With the premium now only $350, and perhaps dropping to $300? (I've heard you can get it now for this price), there is no reason not to purchase the premium package.

Hey bud there are some rumors going around about a price drop coming in about 2 weeks. Hold off for 2 weeks. The Pro is supposed to drop down to $299. No official announcement yet though. I am also waiting to purchase my first XBox360. I will wait until the 17th for the price drop.
