It should be fine as long as it has plentty of air around the back and sides like atlease 3 inches.

i dont think it overheats THAT bad. like was said above as long as it has a little room around it, it should be fine. Air in a cabinet isnt going to be that much hotter then in the room itself.. ive had mine in my entertainment center, and i never open the doors and i have had 0 problems. Might i add i still have a launch xbox

you should be fine if the back of the system can let air out.

I've never had a problem with my box and it's in an entertainment center. Been there for about 18 months.

If there's space in the back of the shelf for air to escape, should be fine. I have mine in a shelf as well, lying horizontal, and no problems so far.

im planning to get a 360 today. Im planning to put it in my cabinet horizontally which has plenty of space on the sides and the back but there would only be about half an inch of space above it - will it be safe?
