I Need Rrod
i know it sounds weird, but i actually want the RROD. my 360 has gone nuts and M$ wants to charge me to fix it. if i get the RROD i get a "new" one for free. my warranty just ran up so i refuse to pay a dime to get this POS fixed and have it ring out on me a month later.
so i need to make my console fail. i've left it on for 3 days and nothing. the problem is i have no video or audio so i cant play anything to make it work harder. anyone have any suggestions on how so speed up my goal here? im gettin some games for christmas and im gonna be pissed if i cant play them.

lol getting the RROD is easy. Wrap the console in a towel and let it run for 30mins. This will make the gpu overheat causing 3 red lights. Some will tell you that this is a towel trick used to fix the system but thats bullshit. The gpu will overheat and fail.
This is almost as easy as doing a walmart swap

i thought about doing that but then i saw people were using that as a fix. i didn't quite understand how wrapping something that is overheating in a towel would make it run, but whatever.
is overheating the only known thing that causes the RROD? i know its a general hardware failure but do you know of anything other than the heat that causes the failures?

Heat is the systems worst enemy. Thats where 99% of the systems hardware failures come from.

You can also use 2 tooth picks (1 in each fan) to jam the fans from spinning, that'll cook it to

Well they well repair your RROD. Not sent you a new one, I don't think. My second 360 died 11/25/2007, coffin box is coming this Wednesday.
Anyways, the Support guy told me. I will never have RROD problems again after it come back to me. He promise, he says. We shall see..

Lucky for these guys you're very wrong... if Microsoft made everyone wait for them to fix your box and THEN send it back you'd be lucky to get it back in 2 months. They toss your box into a "broken" pile, and as then you get one sent back to you from the "fixed" pile. A friend of mine got his recently bricked Xbox replaced from MS within 2 weeks.
If I didn't want to even consider losing my box for a few weeks I'd consider the same thing, stupid CD-ROM acting up... but not enough to try to do anything about it.

the towel trick is supposed to work because it melts the insides back together, and makes everything work once again, generally i think its BS, it i have an issue with my 360, i'm not going to melt it, i'm going to get a free one from m$
