Why wont my 360 share video???

I have a pro with a 20gb hard drive.
When i go to media on the dashboard i am able to share pics and music, but not video.
When i click on video the only source it takes me to is ''My pictures"
Even when i put video s in my pics they dont show up.?
The only types ive tried are mpeg and mp4
are they compatible with xbox?
How can i view my videos on my xbox?

Been having the same trouble myself, when i put a memory stick in with several different video file types on, it says there aren't any on there.

I will be interested to see the responses because it will suck balls if you can only stream videos from your PC via 360.
