Help! Half Life 2 - no longer see my weapon

I hit some combination of buttons on my controller and now I can't see which weapon I'm carrying; everything is truly first person view. I tried resetting control options to default and it didn't fix the problem. I've tried every combination of buttons and still I can't get my weapon view back. How do I get this fixed? Thanks.

I imagine you've tried resetting the console, right?

I ended up just quitting the game and restarting it, and it fixed the problem. Strange bug.
