I recently bought a new Xbox after sending 2 in for repair. I'm just going to sell the one they send me back b/c I'm tired of getting refurbished systems that are awful.

My new console runs much much cooler and quiter than the system I bought in November of 2006. That seems to be the general consensus for the newer systems.

disagree if you will, but the new chipset and heatsink xboxes don't seem to get as hot in the rear as the old ones. I have friends with old and new ones. The new ones aren't loud, because they arent dealing with as much heat, you can't feel a whole lot of air movement and its not that hot. The older ones are loud and you can feel a ton of hot air.
