Yup. I even dis-allowed it then re-allowed it to see if that would reset it, but didn't work...

yea but the ports are on your router, that doesnt mean that you computer cant still be blocking traffic, just that your router isnt.

My method of troubleshooting required to disable firewall to isolate the problem. Now we know that the firewall is the culprit. If its windows firewall you will have to enable it and go into the execptions tab, there you will look for windows media player network sharing. Then you will enter the subnet which would be 255.255.255.0 / 192.168.1.xxx (or what ever your IP address of the xbox is and enter that on IP address part. They give you an example there underneath and then save it. It is then that it will all work with your firewall enabled.

What you did here was open the ports on the HARDWARE firewall and not your software firewall.

Actually enter under exceptions 255.255.255.0 / 192.168.1.0 unless your router has another LAN ip then enter that instead of the 192... but make sure the last number is a 0 so if for any reason your xbox gets a different ip assigned it will allow it within your LAN.

I can connect to Xbox LIVE no problem, just not my PC... in WMP11 'Share my media to...' option, my Xbox 360 is listed, so my PC has found my Xbox... but my Xbox won't connect with my PC - any help ?

This may fix you up.
Goto Control Panel => Administratve Tools => Services
Start SSDP Discovery Service
Start Universal Plug and Play Device Host Service
(To start up a service just double-click on it, set Startup Type to Automatic, and click on the Startup Button)
You should then find that WMP11 Media Sharing will turn on and discover your Xbox. Let us know how it goes.
